Last March 25, 2026, at The Velaris Residences Show Gallery, a roomful of female entrepreneurs and business leaders gathered not just to talk about building, but to examine what it takes to keep building without breaking.
For the second time, the Imaginable Impact Sala Sessions: Building Boldly, Landing Softly brought together members of FoundHer, a community of women founders and leaders committed to supporting one another in building sustainable ventures and meaningful impact. This edition anchored on a question that felt both urgent and deeply personal: what do women truly need to thrive?
“From our first partnership last year to this one, the RHK Land team have dealt with us with the kind of proactiveness, respect, and care that have felt truly empowering. And being at The Velaris Residences Show Gallery has not only given us a beautiful space to connect and converse with our community; it has shown us what’s possible if we allow ourselves to dream bigger for ourselves and our loved ones. It’s both intimate and expansive, which mirrors some of our experiences as women entrepreneurs,” said Nina Terol Aquino, Founder of FoundHer.
This spirit of connection and empowerment set the tone for the session, led by Marika Laciste—founder of Dumbo Coffee and co-founder of BuildHub.ph—an evolving entrepreneur, strategic leader, and creative innovator who has learned, through experience, that boldness alone is not enough. In a session themed Building Boldly, Landing Softly, she unpacked what it truly means for women to take risks in business—and the structures, relationships, and forms of support that make that courage sustainable.

Boldness is About Support, Not Just Leaps
Boldness isn’t simply about taking risks or constantly pushing forward. It became clear that for many female entrepreneurs and business leaders, the real challenge lies in sustaining that boldness without the right support systems in place. There is often an unspoken expectation to remain strong, composed, and resilient at all times, even in moments of uncertainty.
What stood out was the realization that courage is not only found in persistence, but also in the ability to step back, be honest, and create space to breathe. Building is not always about moving forward—it can also mean pausing, recalibrating, and allowing clarity to come in.
Creating Space for Sustainable Growth
- From this, it became evident that growth is not driven by ambition alone. It requires a strong foundation—one that includes clarity in financial priorities, the right people to learn from and grow with, and a sense of emotional grounding.
- More than anything, it highlighted that while women are inherently capable of building boldly, what is often missing is the infrastructure that supports them. Strength alone is not the gap—support is. And with the right systems, spaces, and communities in place, building boldly becomes not just possible, but sustainable.

Beyond Encouragement: Building Infrastructure
While women embody grit and determination, there is a gap that lies not in willingness or resources, but in the systemic support surrounding their ventures. Having the right people, processes, and networks in place is what truly enables women to build boldly and sustainably.
Lessons from the Open Forum
- Self-Care Is Foundational
Caring for yourself is not indulgent—it is essential. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Resilience is not built on endurance alone, but on the ability to restore. - There Is No Single Path
There is no universal formula for navigating challenges. Even in the absence of immediate support, the ability to steady oneself becomes a necessary strength. - Build the Process First
Before growth, there must be structure. Thoughtful systems create stability, allowing everything else to follow. - The Power of Expression
There is value in simply speaking. Even when conversations are imperfect or unheard, the act of sharing creates release, and often, clarity. - No One Thrives Alone
Recognizing your limits is wisdom. A life that works is one supported by others—mentors, peers, and even practical help in the home. - Reframe Rest as Work Worth Doing
Joy, rest, and leisure are not afterthoughts. Treat them as “projects” that deserve time, intention, and follow-through. - Design Your Support System Intentionally
Different areas of life require different forms of support. Have a trusted person you can talk to in each area of your life. Build a network of people you can rely on, specifically and meaningfully. - Prepare for the Unseen
Foresight is a form of care. When systems and buffers are in place, unexpected moments become manageable rather than destabilizing. - Be Clear About What You Need to Thrive
Name what sustains you, and protect it. Whether it’s time, space, or support at home, these are not luxuries. They are conditions that make everything else possible.
This session at The Velaris Residences also aligns with the property’s intentional theme of curated spaces for living, connecting, and thriving, fostering a community where women—and all residents—can reflect, grow, and make meaningful impact. The Imaginable Impact Sala Sessions: Building Boldly, Landing Softly reinforced an important insight: boldness doesn’t mean constant push or perfection. It’s about knowing when to step back, leaning on support, and creating space to breathe—building boldly, landing softly.
